What’s Involved?

The programme is delivered through a series of workshops and ongoing support;

  • 5 one-day workshops that take place across 2-months from our London office.
  • On-going support and discussions between the workshops.
  • An assessment activity that meets the requirements for the ILM Endorsed Programme.
  • Six-month studying membership of the ILM for those undertaking the Endorsed Programme.

The programme is designed to help you;

  • Evidence impact – proving what you do
  • Enhance your services – building on what you do
  • Strategic development – align your strategies, generate funds and embed new practices within your organisations culture

The programme draws together best practice from across the sector to give leaders practical tools and techniques to encourage a culture of evaluation in their organisation and build their teams capacity to deliver outstanding research, evaluation and impact assessment.

Following the final workshop you’ll develop a personal action plan, consider your learning from the 5 workshops and identify specific actions that will help you to develop a suitable impact assessment strategy, and also influence others in your organisation to implement and engage with the plans you initiate.

What Will I Learn?

The learning objectives for the programme include

  1. Understanding the core research/evaluation process in a civil society context
  2. Considering the role of leaders in civil society in initiating and driving organisations evidence strategy.
  3. Critically assessing an organisations current evidence practices and forming plans to improve these systems.
  4. Reflecting on the role of leaders in managing both the technical and cultural aspects of generating and using evidence effectively.
  5. Assessing the alignment between the evidence strategy and the broader financial and organisational strategies.
  6. Forming and implementing action plans and strategies to develop evidence practices in your organisation.

Each of the five sessions also has a detailed breakdown of learning outcomes and associated course material. For further information contact us using the tab on the right of the page.

Assessment

The programme is approved by the ILM (Institute for Leadership and Management). As the programme is recognised as an ILM development programme, there is no obligation to undertake assessment for the course. Without assessment, the course still offers  practical CPD for managers and leaders. Optional certification for undertaking the course as an endorsed ILM programme is available for an additional charge. This is especially useful when it is important to validate your learning or you will be responsible for implementing the evidence strategy in your organisation (or a substantial project).

Certification will also require undertaking a short assessed task and include one-to-one feedback from one of our impact consultants. Following the final workshop you develop a personal action plan, where you consider your learning from the 5 workshops and identify specific actions that will help you to develop a suitable impact assessment strategy, and also encourage everybody in your organisation to engage with implementing plan you initiate.
